Abstract

Boko Haram (BH), internationally regarded as a militant, terrorist Islamist group, is principally made up of individuals from the Lake Chad Kanuri ethnic group. It is active in that particular region, irrespective of frontiers established for colonial considerations, as it is their ancestral homeland. BH has recently expanded its terrorist activities and is creating havoc not only in Nigeria where its founder and leaders originate, but also in Cameroon and Niger irrespective of their formal borders, as well as predictably soon in Chad, where the population of N’djamena, the country’s capital is largely of Kanuri ethnicity.
