Research interests

Dr Stephen Kerry is a Lecturer in Sociology in CIFAS. Dr Kerry holds degrees in Gender Studies and their* research specialisation focuses on the health needs of Australians who live on the gender margins of society. Dr Kerry’s work examines the lived experiences of intersex, transgender, and sex/gender diverse Australians and they recently published Trans Dilemmas: Living in Australia’s Remote Areas and in Aboriginal Communities with Routledge. When not at work, Dr Kerry volunteers for the Darwin-based LGBTQI human rights organisation Rainbow Territory and sits on the board of the National LGBTI Health Alliance as the Northern Territory Director.
