Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Senior Research Fellow and Evidence Based Practice Professorial Unit Coordinator at the Centre for Research in Evidence-Based Practice at Bond University and have worked part-time in community pharmacy for over 10-years. I hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (First Class Honours), Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice, PhD and recently completed Graduate Certificate in Data Science from Monash University.

My research focuses on clinician engagement in research, clinical research, and health professional education and have received over $200,000 in grant funding. I have been teaching since 2004 in tertiary education institutions, university colleges, and privately. I have published several papers on health professional education, been awarded educational grants, and was recently named on The Educator Higher Education Rising Stars 2020 list. I am also the Gold Coast Skeptics President (www.gcskeptics.com). The Gold Coast Skeptics encourage thoughtful, rational exploration of the world around us. We are keen to promote scientific education and a sense of wonder in the natural world, as well as protect the public against potentially harmful shams, practices, policies and products through public education and working with regulatory bodies.

My teaching interests include:

  • Evidence-based practice and clinical research methods
  • Critical thinking and logic
  • Mathematics: basic calculus and statistics for health professionals

While I am interested in general clinical research methodology, my research interests include:

  • Clinician research engagement and development
