Experimental Studies of EGR/EOR from Tight Carbonates and Tight Formations

Future research

My research to date has focused on macro emulsions. My future research interest involves the application of inexpensive low field NMR to characterise micro emulsions with the focus on, but not limited to enhanced oil recovery applications.

Research interests

My research work made extensive use of NMR pulsed field gradient (PFG) techniques (in particular self-diffusion measurements) to quantify emulsions droplet size distributions, which also included the development of new NMR techniques for rapid emulsion droplet sizing. Extensive use of NMR relaxometry techniques is also part of my research experience, these are required to differentiate oil and water in emulsions. Beyond emulsions, my research has included the application of NMR imaging, diffusion and relaxometry measurements to study heavy hydrocarbon freezeout and reservoir formation.
