Biography
Marilyn's background is in public health where she holds a degee in Health Science (Health Promotion) with an earlier career in nursing. She has over 20 years' experience in health research, policy and practice in rural, remote and urban settings throughout Australia. Marilyn has extensive experience in community engagement, development and capcity building particularly in the area of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and has worked collaboratively with government, non-government and community organisations. Marilyn is committed to improving the overall health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities through addressing the social determinants of health. Her health research areas include injury prevention, road safety, sexual health, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
