Jim is a full-time Research Fellow at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation. He is currently working on developing an implementation and evaluation strategy for the ZERO Childhood Cancer personalised medicine program.
Jim has previously worked on National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded projects in the UK using implementation science. At the University of London, he researched behaviour change in healthcare professionals. Jim also successfully completed work at University of Oxford on the NIHR-HTA funded Arthroplasty Candidacy Help Engine (ACHE) project with the Knee Research Group at the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford UK. At Oxford, Jim collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) and was involved in the newly developed Musculoskeletal Health questionnaire (MSK-HQ) funded by Arthritis Research UK. He was also involved in developing a decision aid on surgery options for patients deciding knee replacement surgery. Jim has NHS experience gained at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, UK.
Jim’s research interests include mixed methods, implementation science, consumer engagement, decision-making support and outcome measures.
Finally, Jim focuses on speedy translation of research evidence into clinical practice and is passionate about mentoring clinicians to conduct research and translate research into practice.
