Professor Deborah Schofield is the inaugural Director of GenIMPACT: Centre for Economic Impacts of Genomic Medicine, in the Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Economics, at Macquarie University. Professor Schofield has established herself is one of a handful of international leaders in the new field of economics of genomic medicine. She has been awarded more than $100 million in grant funding and has published over 200 papers. Although she has worked as an economist for two decades, Professor Schofield commenced her career as a Speech Pathologist running a paediatric clinic where she worked with children with developmental disorders and disabilities.
